2000 UPDATES
February - April - July - November

FEBRUARY 2000 UPDATE
Hello and welcome to a new century. It was wonderful to see the world bring in the new millennium in such a joyous and peaceful way. But now I can’t believe it’s already February!
Things are really kicking into gear on "OVERLOAD", the sci-fi adventure that Bill Mumy wrote with Peter David. We start shooting in the middle of February. Bill took me to see the sets the other day and they are really great. Our spaceship, the 3N5472,is unbelievably cool. So I’m back in the acting realm once again and up in space.
After many hours of editing Bill and I finished the book we wrote called "To What Purpose" in the beginning of January. After 10 months you become pretty attached to a project and now we wait.
I’ve also been shooting lots of new pictures including ones for Bill’s new CD that’s soon to be released "Pandora’s Box." Meanwhile I’m working on a series of photos called ‘Seny & Rauxa’ inspired by my trip to Spain last year. Hopefully that will be in the Art Parts section on the www.RubberBoots.com web page soon. There’s lots of beautiful new jewelry I’ve just posted for Valentines Day. Check it out if you have a chance.
On the Convention Scene it looks like whole "Lost In Space" gang will be in New Jersey for CHILLER April 14-16, 2000 at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel.
My sister Veronica will join me in Detroit at the Motor City Con May 19-21, 2000.
I’ll also be attending DragonCon in Atlanta June 29-July 2, 2000 with Bill Mumy, who will also be performing. That should be fun, I hear it’s a great convention. Hope I can see you at one of these events.
Guess that’s it for now. Thanks for all your lovely notes in the Guest Book. I do enjoy reading them

UPDATE APRIL 2000
Hello Friends,
Well here's the Update as promised. Happy Spring! How the time
is flying by.  Seems like only yesterday we were bringing in the New Year. Bill Mumy and I finally put our fantasy novel "To What Purpose" to rest. For the time being anyway. Now we enter the world of publishing and all that has to offer. We'll keep you posted.
I've been doing a lot of photography and thinking about putting together a book of some of it. I have a lot of sorting and research to do so don't hold your breath...but it is something I would like to do.
On February 14th we shot a trailer for 'OVERLOAD', the movie that Bill Mumy wrote with Peter David. It was great being back on a set again, being directed by Tony Dow and working with old friends like Johnny Crawford, Billy Gray, Don Grady, George Takei.

My son Jesse did his first acting role in front of the camera last week. He played 'the smirky guy' on the show "Get Real".  Don't know when it will air but he totally enjoyed the experience. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I've combined the Updates from 1998 and 1999 into two pages. I can't believe I've had this website for over two years now. I also have created a Scrapbook 5 which I will be publishing real soon and I will be adding odds and ends to that over the month.

Till next time I have something to report

UPDATE JULY 2000

Summer already...The month of June was filled with celebration.  There were end of school events with my son Jesse, who graduated to High School come September (I can't believe it). And my daughter Becca, still in college, moved into her own apartment this last month (something else I find hard to believe).

Bill Mumy and I have been working on rewrites on our book "Three Realms Fallen". Writing this book has been a long project and a learning experience. I look forward to getting done with this version and then getting it published.
I appeared at DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia June 30th, July 1st and 2nd. Bill was there with me and performed live on Friday night. It was great. We also got to look around Atlanta a bit and I shot lots of pictures. Here we are after being on Atlanta's Peachtree Morning show.
BMPeachtreeAB.jpg (125169 bytes)  Wish I had some show biz stuff to share with you but everything in that area seems to be 'pending' at the moment. But I had lots of wonderful personal 'life' moments in the last couple of months that I wouldn't trade for anything. Enjoy the summer months ahead and be good to one another.

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2000

Okay, so lots of you have been wondering. Hey, what, no update? Sorry about that but there has been a reason for the delay. I couldn't talk about any of it until it had happened.

The 7 Kids from Sound of Music documentary Debbie, me, Duane, Andy a crew member,
Heather, Charmy, Kym and Nicholas in Leopoldstrom.
This is the lake where the canoe tipped over and we all fell in.

I have just returned from two incredible weeks in Salzburg, Austria.  After 35 years a dream came true.  Yorkshire Television, with the vision of Judith Holder and her mighty talented crew, finally collected all seven of us 'Von Trapp Kids' from the movie "The Sound of Music" for a journey down memory lane.  We were gathered together from different parts of the the planet to fly to Austria to shoot a documentary remembering and revisiting the locations where we shot the movie.
We revisited the places that we shot 'Do Re Mi' (which was shot all over Salzburg), we attended a party in our honor at the Residence Palace with the Mayor and the Governor of Salzburg, and we went on the 'Sound of Music' tour. We also revisited the incredible location where we had the picnic and 'started from the very beginning' of Do Re Mi.  It was as untouched and beautiful as ever.  These were just a few of my favorite things we did.  We relived moments 35 years ago that brought us to tears and laughter. And the seven of us did it together for the first time ever being filmed by a terrific crew.
I can't believe it's happened... We all had an incredible fun time that we will never, ever forget.
It will be released on television in Great Britain around Easter... can't say the exact date yet, but I will announce it on the front page of my website as soon as I can... then you'll have to keep your fingers crossed that it shows here in the United States but for right now it is only being released in the United Kingdom.
Check out some pictures from the Salzburg adventure in the new traveling Sound of Music Kids section.
After we finished the documentary Heather, Debbie and I drove along the Danube River for 3 days through the wine country on our way to Vienna and experienced some of the most gorgeous landscape I've ever seen.  Austria is a gorgeous country. And it was Louisa, Brigitta and Marta hitting the road. What a blast we had, I'm so glad we had the time to do that.
Last week I was flown to New York City with Kym Karath where we attended the "Sing-A-Long Sound of Music" at the Waverly Theatre. You get to see the movie on the big screen with the words to the songs printed on the film so you can sing-a-long with the movie.  The audience hisses and cheers and it's a ton of fun. They will be airing the "Sound of Music" movie on television in the United States on December 17th, and you'll see Kym and me having a great time with Ryan Seacrest as the host.
Now I'm getting ready to cook my turkey and enjoy my family before heading out to Columbus, Ohio where I will be with Bill Mumy and June Lockhart at the MID-OHIO-CON Thanksgiving weekend, November 25th and 26th at the Hilton Columbus at Easton Town Center, Ohio. For more information go to www.midohiocon.com or call 419-526-1427.  I hope some of you can come and visit me at the convention there.
I'll be adding more pictures from my Salzburg trip when I get a moment to breathe... till then, enjoy the holiday season that is almost upon us...
So Long, Farewell,
